Tame Impala Tease New Track ‘End of Summer’ – Dropping This Friday

Tame Impala is officially back. After weeks of teasing, Kevin Parker has confirmed new music is arriving this Friday, July 26, and fans are already deep in speculation over what it could mean.

The announcement came via a cryptic post across Tame Impala’s social media accounts earlier this week, urging fans to “clear 7 minutes” on Friday—a likely nod to the length of the incoming track. While the message didn’t offer many specifics, it pointed followers to the band’s website, which now features a countdown clock ticking toward the new release.

Digging into the website’s code and surrounding context, fans have uncovered the title “End of Summer,” which appears to be either the name of the new track—or potentially the title of a forthcoming album. This will mark the first new solo release from Parker since 2020’s critically acclaimed The Slow Rush

Adding to the excitement, Tame Impala recently previewed what’s assumed to be the same song during a surprise DJ set in Barcelona. The track’s sonic direction hinted at a more club-driven, electronic sound while still keeping Parker’s signature dreamy psychedelia intact.

The teaser also follows a flood of behind-the-scenes content shared by Parker on Instagram earlier this month—studio sessions, whiteboard tracklists, and personal moments—all tagged “Been busy,” suggesting a full album rollout could be on the horizon. Notably, a whiteboard showed 13 completed tracks, which fans believe could make up the next official LP.

Between the countdown, cryptic messaging, and subtle reveals, all signs point to this Friday being the start of a bold new era for Tame Impala.

….and don’t forget to clear 7 minutes this Friday.
