TEED Returns with Double Single ‘Desire / The Echo’ Signaling a Bold New Chapter
After a three-year hiatus, TEED (formerly Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) is back with his electrifying double single, ‘Desire / The Echo’, marking a fresh chapter in Orlando Higginbottom’s musical journey. This release is his first new music since 2022’s When the Lights Go and signals a reinvigorated creative direction.
The lead track, ‘Desire’, is a psych-electro-pop standout driven by hypnotic synths, propulsive drum grooves, and Higginbottom’s signature falsetto. Lyrically, it explores the longing for connection amidst uncertainty: “I’m looking for love in your arms tonight / Is it too late?” Its companion, ‘The Echo’, brings an ebullient, club-ready energy, capturing the joy and inspiration that first sparked TEED’s love for music.

Higginbottom describes this new phase as a reclamation of creative joy, free from industry pressures. “It’s not nostalgia exactly,” he explains, “it’s more of a reframing of the memory of what music first made me feel from my present perspective.”
With two GRAMMY nominations, global festival appearances, and collaborations with SG Lewis, Mark Ronson, and The Blessed Madonna, TEED’s return reasserts his position as a boundary-pushing force in electronic and pop music.
‘Desire / The Echo’ is available now everywhere, offering fans a tantalizing glimpse of what’s next from TEED.
