Indie-Psych Rockers The Belligerents Release New Single & Tour
After five years of hard work developing their sound and building a loyal fanbase, The Belligerents hit their stride big time in 2015. Gaining the attention of the country at the beginning of the year with their single In My Way and an awesome cove of Fatboy Slim’s Praise You for triple j’s Like A Version, the psych 5-piece quickly followed up with the release of their EP ‘Outside:Inside’.
The new single showcases the band’s trademark quirky indie-rock sound while presenting a different, more experimental vibe that was largely inspired by a unique recording environment. The band’s bassist and producer Konstantin Kersting says the band recorded the album in a big farm house on Queensland’s Stradbroke Island.
“We hired and borrowed a heap of gear to make it work and it actually turned out to be the most fun recording session we’ve ever been a part of,” said Kersting.
The new single differs from previous releases as The Belligerents push for freedom and experimentation, highlighting a desire for progression sonically. Spacey, guitar driven verses in conjunction with a haunting falsetto chorus is addictive to the ears, whilst the almighty guitar solo in the bridge is potent enough to get even the dullest crowd losing their mind.
Truly establishing themselves as an artist to watch in 2016, The Belligerents have given us a great taste of their forthcoming debut album – we can’t wait to hear it!
To celebrate the release of their new single, The Belligerents will be hitting the road for their first tour of 2016.
