The Comfort Release Energetic New Single “Everstone”

The Comfort

Brissie duo The Comfort have announced they’ll be releasing their second EP ‘Love’, and have released a single to celebrate. Everstone will be the first release from the alt-rock band since the departure of their drummer, Lewis Stiles. To commemorate the release of their EP, due out in September, the band will also be doing a tour of the East Coast.

Everstone is a slightly lighter song than those found on the band’s debut EP ‘Ghosts’ last year, with Liam Holmes’ cleaner and more emotive vocals leading a serious post-hardcore tune. It’s a passionate track that combines an emo-esque chorus with melodic hardcore riffs and instrumentation. The tune is well balanced, combining a soaring chorus with a sombre verse as The Comfort cement their place in the ranks of upcoming hardcore bands on the rise.

Everstone is a passionate track with pounding drums and a driving bass line that pushes the song forward. The guitar plays a dark melody over the top, which lyrics’ scream “I wasted so much time trying to turn you into who you were”.

The music video features shots of the band performing in a small room with fairy lights and a fast moving camera, jumping between various angles. With the combination of their enthusiasm and their bassist’s interesting facial expressions, the clip’s basic setting portrays the band’s energy showing they’re a force to be reckoned with live.

The July tour will see the boys joined by mates Grim Indiana, as the post-hardcore 5-piece release their single Slowburn.
