The Little Lord Street Band Deliver Your Next Sunday Afternoon Jam ‘Heartache Moon’

The Little Lord Street are more than a country band. They cross happy mediums and make music with a touch of magic and grit. Heartache Moon is the Perth five-piece’s latest and proceeds their amazing September release, Maybe I’m Just In Love.

The group have kicked some huge goals since forming in 2014—the biggest of those is winning Best Country Act at the 2017 Western Australian Music Awards. To follow this incredible accolade, Heartache Moon is a tender and honest assembly of their sound and beliefs as a band. It subscribes to that classic songwriting trope of writing a happy song with sadder undertones. The crossover vocal melodies of James and Natasha, paired with the peaceful and intelligent instrumentation, recalls the magnificence of The Middle East or an earlier cut from Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. In saying that, The Little Lord Street make music that crosses all boundaries—it’s music for pure enjoyment.

Heartache Moon was recorded at Rada Studios with Dan Carroll (Ruby Boots, Timothy Nelson, Davey Craddock). It’s true passion in their delivery which has seemingly been boosted from Carroll’s work. It also doesn’t hurt that the group have been grinding their teeth at some amazing festival appearances such as WAM Fest, Fairbridge Folk Festival and Nannup Festival.

The Little Lord Street are launching Heartache Moon in early February at their hometown local of Clancy’s.  See all the details and stream their latest below.
