The Lumineers Announce New Album ‘Automatic’ with Release of New Single ‘Same Old Song’
The Lumineers have returned announcing their fifth studio album, Automatic, due for release on February 14. Following a three-year hiatus, the band returns with fresh material, offering fans a raw and personal collection of songs that explore modern life’s complexities.
The album’s lead single, Same Old Song, is available now, showcasing the band’s signature style with an upbeat yet introspective track. Written by co-founders Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites, the song offers a snapshot of the challenges of navigating a world filled with both overstimulation and apathy. Its accompanying music video, directed by Anaïs LaRocca, features surreal visuals and a captivating performance that brings the song’s emotional depth to life.

Automatic marks a new chapter for The Lumineers, who embraced their evolving personal lives as they wrote and recorded the album. The band, now joined by the experience of fatherhood, introduces more vulnerability and humour in their music, while maintaining the anthemic, infectious sound their fans love. The album was recorded in under a month at Utopia Studio in Woodstock, with the band co-producing for the first time alongside David Baron and Simone Felice.
