The Maggie Pills Release Haunting New Album Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss

Naarm/Melbourne-based post-punk outfit The Maggie Pills have unleashed their powerful sophomore album, Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss, out now.

Formed in 2019 by Argentinian frontwoman Delfi Sorondo and Venezuelan drummer Mario Perez, the band has built a reputation for their raw energy and uncompromising sound. Produced and mixed by Perez alongside Brad Jackson, the new record captures the band’s signature blend of post-punk grit and emotional liberation, exploring themes of love, fear, loss, and defiance.

At the centre of the album sits the focus track “Swords and Knives”, a stormy meditation on the unplanned nature of love — how it strikes suddenly and leaves us exposed. The accompanying music video, shot on a handycam in a single day, follows a vampire girl who faces her mortality before nightfall, creating a haunting visual metaphor for love and inevitability.

The record also features fan favourites like the grunge-soaked “Velobell” and fuzz-driven “Goths Of Disgrace”, solidifying Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss as one of the year’s most striking post-punk releases.

To celebrate, The Maggie Pills will perform two Melbourne shows at The Night Cat and The Brunswick Ballroom, continuing their rise as one of the city’s most compelling live acts.

The Maggie Pills’ Hearts Enduring Lingering Loss is available to stream and order on vinyl now.
