The Maggie Pills Unleash Gritty New Punk Single ‘Velobell’ and Announce Melbourne Launch Show
Naarm/Melbourne-based punk outfit The Maggie Pills return with their searing new single ‘Velobell’, a powerful anthem of resilience wrapped in distortion and defiance. Produced and co-mixed by band member Mario Perez, and mastered by Grammy-winner Emerson Mancini (Kendrick Lamar, Paramore), the track is an electrifying taste of the band’s evolving sonic identity.
Opening with a discordant progression and Delfi Sorondo’s breathy vocals, ‘Velobell’ builds into a cathartic blend of grunge grit, pounding basslines and a gripping guitar solo. The single explores themes of inner turmoil and survival.
“At its heart, the song is a message of resilience. It’s about the moments when we lose sight of ourselves, when life feels heavy and out of sync – yet something within us refuses to let go. Whether you’re wrestling grief, burnout, addiction, or just the quiet emptiness of everyday life, ‘Velobell’ is a howl from the void that says: ‘You’re still in there, and you’re not alone’.”

Accompanied by a haunting new music video directed by Perez and filmed by Ryan Cara, the visual places the band in a shadowy forest of emotional chaos, mirroring the song’s intensity and urgency.
To celebrate, The Maggie Pills will play a single launch show on Friday, June 13 at John Curtin Hotel in Melbourne. Known for explosive live sets and a raw, unapologetic sound, this is a show not to be missed.
