The Murlocs Announce New Album ‘Young Blindness’ and National Tour
Aussie boys, The Murlocs have been busy! This week they have announced an Australian tour, released a video for their single Compensation, and announced their second full-length album ‘Young Blindness.’
‘Young Blindness’ is the sequel to their debut album ‘Loopholes (2014),’ and introspectively explores themes of youthful paranoia and self-doubt. This album shows the maturing sound of The Murlocs. Whilst their melodic intuition remains, their evolution is very evident on tracks such as Thinking Out Loud and Young Blindness. These hearty compositions are further bolstered by the unmistakable vocal tremolo of frontman Ambrose Kenny-Smith.
We’ve been given a taste of the upcoming album with the release of their lead single Compensation. The video depicts a boy, with seizure inducing blue hair, dancing through the streets. The colourful, staticky cinematography and upbeat track guises the melancholic pining of an adolescent drowning in regrets.
Since 2011, the Murlocs have developed a rambunctious stage presence after performing on stages across Australia. After the release of ‘Young Blindness,’ they will show off their talent on a tour of the US and Australia.
Watch out for the release of ‘Young Blindness’ on Friday 18 March, and catch the band on their national tour. If that’s not incentive enough, there will be 99c beers available at both Melbourne shows! Cheers to The Murlocs.
