The Rions Kick Off 2025 with Powerful New Single ‘Shut You Out’
After a massive 2024, Sydney indie-pop band The Rions are back with their latest single, Shut You Out—a bold and emotionally charged anthem that marks a new chapter in their evolving sound. Known for their infectious melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the four-piece continue to cement their status as one of Australia’s fastest-rising indie acts.
Shut You Out is a song about self-growth and breaking free from relationships that hold you back. The track emerged during a recent writing trip before being brought to life in the studio with renowned producer Chris Collins (Matt Corby, Middle Kids, Skegss). Featuring cinematic string arrangements and a dynamic sonic build, the single leans into a more intense and dramatic direction than their previous releases.
“We decided pretty quickly that it was naturally taking an intense path both sonically and lyrically, so we just leaned into that throughout the rest of the writing process, adding strings for that cinematic flair we’ve been chasing for a while.” – The Rions.
