Riot Fest Lineup Has Been Announced & It’s Insane!
Holy sh*t, the Riot Fest 2016 lineup is epic! Honestly, in this case “epic” might actually be an understatement. The US festival will be held in Chicago and Denver in September this year, and after the lineup announcement we are considering selling our Grandmas to get tickets (kidding Grammy…sort of).
Headlining the festival’s 12th year will be a reunited Misfits. Yep, for the first time in more than three decades Misfits will be playing with their original singer and bassist! Joining them playing in both cities will be Death Cab For Cutie, Deftones, Nas, and punk legends Bad Religion and Descendents.
Chicago and Denver will also feature Motion City Soundtrack, who will be playing some of their last ever shows, alongside our very own Violent Soho.
In Denver, Jane’s Addiction will be performing their two-times US Platinum album ‘Ritual De Lo Habitual’ in full. Also making appearances in Denver will be Tyler, The Creator, Hatebreed, and The Dandy Warhols. Punk fans won’t be disappointed either, with Against Me! and Lagwagon both playing sets.
The Chicago lineup is looking equally as fierce, with Morrissey set to perform, alongside Rob Zombie, who will be performing the entirety of ‘White Zombie’s Astro-Creep: 2000’. Social Distortion will also be appearing, performing ‘White Light, White Heat, White Trash’. Also scheduled to play are Jimmy Eat World, Brand New, Pierce The Veil, and pop-punkers All Time Low.
The Denver event will be happening first, with dates running from 2–4 September, while Chicago will follow shortly after, with their dates held from 16-18 September. If you’re one of the lucky people looking to go to this, SOME tickets are still available, but act quick, as they’re sure to sell out soon!
With all these acts (plus additional artists to be announced in the coming weeks), this is sure to be one of the biggest Riot Fest’s ever seen. Even with the impending threat of Donald Trump as Prez, we’re pretty damn jealous of Americans right now!
