The Smith Street Band Taking Album Round Oz One Last Time

One of Australia’s most loveable and hard working bands The Smith Street Band are taking their 2014 album ‘Throw Me In The River’ for one last tour around our sunbaked country, with some pretty good friends in tow!

The Melbourne 4-piece have barely taken a breath since the album’s release in 2014, taking the album on across Australia and overseas for an extensive tour through the UK, Europe, and North America. Recently they’ve played at Reading and Leeds Festivals, brought the ruckus to this year’s Laneway Festival, and who could forget their captivating afternoon amphitheater set at 2015’s Splendour In The Grass.

‘Throw Me In The River’ was released to critical acclaim, landing triple j’s Album of the Week, nominated for Best Independent Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album at the 2015 AIR Awards, and the band took out Best Live Band at the Age’s Music Victoria Awards. The album’s lead single, Surrender as if icing on the cake, came in at #69 in triple j’s 2014 Hottest 100.

The Smith Street Band will be joined by great friends Luca Brasi, who are touring in support of their new album ‘If This Is All We’re Going To Be’, emcee and multi-instrumentalist Joelistics, and Jess Locke.
