The Stiffys Drop “The Pokemon Go Song” VIDEO & It’s Hotter Than A Cinnabar Island Gym

Your boys, the conquerors of the seven seas galaxy’s greatest explorers, The Stiffys have dropped the long-awaited and definitely-not-bandwagon-ish new track The Pokemon Go Song.

The track is the most honest and obvious accompaniment to the cultural phenomenon that is currently taking over the lives of many children and young adults (it also dethroned ‘porn’ as the most Googled term recently).

The song itself is a surf-inspired love story about a man who got burnt when his dream girl caught a Charmander. Bulbasauring vocals and lyrics like “She found me and threw me like I’m just a Pokeball”  and “She’s just on a whole different level and I can’t explain” give you an insight into the kind of wordplay that makes this song the very best, like no one ever was.

We know that you’ll be learning these lyrics like they’re the hottest HM on the planet, and heading along to the concerts to sing along. If not, you can just Mr Mime your way through it all.

“WE’VE BEEN WASTING SO MUCH RECORDING TIME PLAYING POKEMON GO MUCH TO OUR PRODUCER STEVEN SCHRAM’S FRUSTRATION SO HE SAID HOW ABOUT WE MAKE A SONG ABOUT IT WAS THE ONLY WAY HE COULD GET US BACK TO WORK,” says bass player Jason Leigh.

“WE’RE RELEASING THE SONG STRAIGHT AWAY BEFORE WE’VE EVEN LEFT THE STUDIO SO WE CAN BE THE FIRST BAND TO SING ABOUT POKEMON GO,” says drummer Adam Stagg.
