The Terrys Release Sun Drenched Single, ‘Ziggy’s Mine’

Gerringong-based surf rockers The Terrys have just announced an 11-item national Billabong Australiacollaboration alongside their last release for 2024, ‘Ziggy’s Mine‘ – produced and mixed by Tasker (3%ChillintTia Gostelow), Paddy Cornwall and Taras Hrubyj-Piper.

The 11-item Billabong Australia collection will be available online and in-store at the majority of Australian outlets. This collaborative relationship includes the ‘Ziggy’s Mine’ accompanying music video – shot and directed by Sam Brumby (King StingrayJulia JacklinThe Rubens). The clip shows The Terrys being their charming selves with the beautiful Gerringong backdrop, doing what they love best: playing music together. The Terrys’ true north has always been this: stay positive, take it one day at a time and look towards the horizon with a smile and, ideally, beer in hand.

Ziggy’s Mine’ is a carefree exemplar of vibrant indie-pop, mixing balmy acoustic guitar with lead singer Jacob “Finchie” Finch‘s endearing spoken word vocals. The track opens into breezy choruses that feel contemplative yet jovial, creating the perfect accompaniment for Australian summer afternoons.

The band talk about how ‘Ziggy’s Mine’ came together:

“We were chillen at the pub after a long day of recording music when we started watching the digital dogs on the screens, and one of those dogs was called Ziggy’s Mine. We all bet the house on Ziggy because that’s the name of Finchy’s dog. Sure enough, Ziggy took the win which caused a strike of inspiration. So, we headed back to the studio and ‘Ziggy’s Mine’ was created. The vibes were at an all-time high, and in record time, the song was made in under two hours.”

The band will perform two shows with mates BOO SEEKA at Guruk/Port Macquarie’s Finnian’s Tavernand Garlambirla/Coffs Harbour’s The Hoey Moey before playing Chasing Tides in Kiarama/Kiama. The band will see out 2024 with performances at Beyond The Valley and Hay Park leading into New Year’s Eve. This continues on from selling out shows across Australia, the UK, EU & NZ and playing Australian mainstays Spaced Out FestivalYours & OwlsNYE on the HillRolling Sets and Festival of the Sun.
