diplo

Hold the phone! DJ superstar Diplo has just announced he will be touring Australia in March ’17!

Set to deliver six epic shows around the country, the internationally acclaimed DJ has announced his Australian shows will be more like club shows, saying “I haven’t done any solo shows in Australia in venues for like eight years because I’ve only been playing the festival circuit so I want to come back and do more of a club show”.

If you’ve been living under a rock and you have no idea who Diplo is, the Los Angeles based electronic producer is one of the most sought after DJs in the world. Diplo, who forms half of Jack Ü and one third of Major Lazer is responsible for producing some of the biggest club bangers of recent times like Where Are Ü Now and Boy Oh Boy. Superheading his very own record label, Diplo has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry including M.I.A, Kid Cudi, Justin Bieber, and Skrillex.

Rumour has it Diplo will be bringing some of his fellow DJ friends along with him! Fellow collaborator Justin Bieber is also set to tour the country in March ’17 (make of that what you will)!

Tickets go on sale November 4 and they’ll be sure to disappear before you get the chance to round up your squad, so get in quick! Start getting hyped with Skrillex and Diplo’s Mind ft. Kai below!

Cyndi Lauper + Blondie Shows, Feel Old Yet?

cyndi-lauper-and-blondie-au-tour

Two of new wave’s most influential female artists Cyndi Lauper and Blondie have announced they will be teaming up for a string of performances across Australia in 2017.

The pop/rock songstresses responsible for some of the biggest hits of the late ‘70s/early ‘80s will be joining forces to deliver two Arena shows and five intimate performances as part of food, wine, and music festival A Day On The Green.

As co-headliners the pair will share the spotlight and perform their greatest hits while taking turns closing each show. Both artists are ecstatic to be delivering a unique experience for Australian fans.

Lauper has said, “Blondie were the true trailblazers of the New York City new wave and punk scenes. As a young artist, they had such a big impact on me. I just thought that Debbie was so cool.  She is still a hero of mine. I’m so excited to do this tour of Australia with them. We are going to have a blast!”.

Just as excited as Lauper, Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry has said, “You can’t miss this show. The b*tches are coming back to make it happen in Australia just like they do it everywhere. All the songs and music you want to hear from us and much much more…. We’re looking to have the best tour in OZ ever!”.

Emerging in the late ‘70s, Lauper’s hugely successful career saw her sell over 50 million albums which brought us classic hits like Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Time After Time, and True Colours. Her 11th studio album ‘Detour’ was released earlier this year, proving the 63 year-old has still got it!

Punk rock group Blondie helped pioneer the late ‘70s New York punk scene and gifted us with number one hits like The Tide Is High, Call Me, and Heart of Glass. The group have since been inducted to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Blondie are also set to release a new album in March 2017!

If you’re a fan of new wave, punk rock, or you just want to relive the golden years, this is a must see performance! Tickets are on sale November 8, but until then relive these classic Cyndi Lauper/Blondie moments below!
