The Wombats Return with Infectious New Single, ‘Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come’

UK indie rock icons, The Wombats, are back with a brand new single, ‘Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come,’ offering a fresh, melodic take on their signature sound. Following the success of their UK #1 album Fix Yourself, Not The World, the band continues to evolve with a blend of tropical pop, falsetto-driven funk, and orchestral flourishes in their latest release.

Lead vocalist Murph explores themes of social anxiety and isolation, describing the track as a reflection of his tendency to embrace a “Lone Wolf” mindset. With lyrics like, “Sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come, It’s not that I hate you, I just hate everyone,” the song’s relatable message is sure to resonate with fans.
