TOUR ANNOUNCED: So Much Love In BANFF & Caitlin Park’s Collab

With their debut collaborative single My Love, My Lover, Brisbane indie singer-songwriter BANFF (aka Benjamin Forbes) and Sydney subtronica songstress Caitlin Park have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with. The duo began working on the track after a chance encounter at BIGSOUND last year and it took its final form in February this year.

Park’s sweet, gentle vocals make the perfect complement to Forbes’ sophisticated blend of acoustic instrumentation and electronic production. A strong guitar rhythm drives the track as their two voices merge beautifully together, peppered with tasteful harmonies. Minimal percussion allows the vocals and instrumentation to shine, and after the second chorus a sparse, raw refrain steals the show.

The song is incredibly lyric-centric, comprised of telling, emotionally expressive lines like, “I’ll keep you safe/And while you’re sleeping I’ve been wide awake”, and “I can’t help it if I can’t make you stay/I can’t help it if all this falls away”.

Forbes said the track was inspired by the challenges experienced by a young couple “talking through their struggles and…trying to get onto the same page”.

“Insert Caitlin and we began discussing ways we could bring the story of a deluded couple in love to life,” said Forbes.

With Park gearing up to drop a new album soon and Forbes preparing for a tour of Europe and the UK, we’re looking forward to hearing more from these emerging artists/talented BFFs soon!
