These New South Whales Unleash Explosive New Single ‘Big Machine’ Ahead of Forthcoming Album ‘Godspeed’

Melbourne punk powerhouses These New South Whales are back in full throttle with their fiery new single, ‘Big Machine’, the fourth taste of their highly anticipated album ‘Godspeed’, set for release on November 28.

Equal parts anthem and satire, ‘Big Machine’ sees the band lean hard into rock ’n’ roll spectacle — and poke fun at it, too. “Sometimes you gotta go big,” frontman Jamie Timony says. “This is one of those times.” With its thunderous energy and tongue-in-cheek bravado, the track captures everything fans love about These New South Whales: attitude, humour, and a knack for turning chaos into catharsis.

Following previous singles ‘Godspeed’, ‘Instinct’ and ‘Miss Her’ — this latest release cements the ‘Godspeed’ era as one of the band’s most refined and ambitious yet. It’s already drawn praise from some of the major tastemakers proving These New South Whales’ blend of punk urgency and self-awareness continues to hit a global chord.

To celebrate the upcoming album, the band is teaming up with Fender for a Gretsch® Streamliner™ Jet™ giveaway, signed by every member — available to fans who pre-order ‘Godspeed’ now at tnsw.co/preorder.

But that’s not all — the band is also marking a major milestone with the 500th episode of their cult-favourite podcast, ‘What A Great Punk’. To celebrate, These New South Whales are taking the show on the road with a series of live podcast events in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, coinciding perfectly with the album’s release weekend. After half a decade of unfiltered conversations with guests like Tame Impala, Amyl and The Sniffers, and Sycco, the podcast will take a well-deserved break following its live tour.

‘Big Machine’ takes These New South Whales into arena-sized territory while keeping their trademark wit intact. It’s loud, defiant, and unrelentingly fun — a perfect prelude to one of 2025’s most anticipated Australian punk albums.
