TikTok Breaks Livestreaming Records with Over 74 Million Viewers at Tomorrowland 2025

In a historic moment for live digital entertainment, TikTok has shattered its own livestreaming records, drawing over 74 million unique viewers during this year’s Tomorrowland festival – a staggering 362.5% increase from the 16 million who tuned in last year.

According to a report from Music Business Worldwide, the ByteDance-owned platform streamed live sets from multiple Tomorrowland stages across two weekends in Belgium, including the MainStage, Freedom Stage, and OneWorldRadio. The result? The most-watched livestream in TikTok’s history and a defining moment in the platform’s aggressive expansion into music and live event broadcasting.

The sheer scale of engagement is unmatched:

  • #Tomorrowland content reached 2.4 billion views
  • The festival’s official TikTok account gained 1.9 million new followers, now totaling 9.2 million
  • Participating artists saw a combined 3 million new followers and 580 million video views

TikTok’s Global Partnership with Tomorrowland is Changing the Game

TikTok served as Tomorrowland’s Official Content Partner, executing a 24-hour livestream strategy while also hosting a dedicated Content Studio on-site for DJs and producers. This partnership, described as “holistic” by TikTok’s Global Head of Music Partnership Development, Michael Kümmerle, has elevated Tomorrowland to one of the most powerful music accounts on the platform.

“This holistic global partnership has taken Tomorrowland on TikTok to a new level… creating incredible impact, engagement and value – both on- and off-platform,” said Kümmerle.

Top Performers and Viral Moments

Among the most-watched artists during the livestream were global EDM icons Charlotte de Witte, Martin Garrix, and Alan Walker. Charlotte de Witte performed twice on the MainStage in a single day, while Garrix closed both weekends with headline sets. Alan Walker, who co-created his viral track Heartbreak Melody during a Tomorrowland x TikTok SoundOn songwriting camp, saw it become the most-saved track through TikTok’s “Add to Music App” feature.

SoundOn, TikTok’s in-house distribution and promotion service, was instrumental in boosting artists’ reach and releasing exclusive new music during the event. Walker’s Heartbreak Melody racked up 4 million streams in two weeks, while Ely Oaks and LAVINIA’s Same Thing hit 1 million streams in its first week.

SoundOn EMEA Head Nichal Sethi praised the collaboration:

“It was great to combine some of the very best SoundOn artists, DJs and producers with amazing, fresh talent… Hearing the tracks played from the MainStage for the first time was incredible.”

TikTok’s Livestreaming Power is Reshaping the Music Industry

The Tomorrowland success is the latest example of TikTok’s evolution into a dominant player in the global live streaming market, which is expected to surge from $38.87 billion in 2022 to $256.56 billion by 2032, according to Custom Market Insights.

TikTok has been steadily building momentum with high-impact livestreams. In 2021, it hosted Justin Bieber’s full-length concert, and recently announced a new partnership with iHeartRadio for a live-streamed music competition called Next Up: Live Music, aimed at spotlighting emerging artists.

The platform’s latest feature, LIVE Fan Club, and the fact that 130 million creators go live daily, signals an aggressive push into the booming creator economy – and its landmark partnership with Tomorrowland only solidifies its position as the most influential music discovery platform on the planet.
