Tilly Fenton Shines with Punchy New Single ‘It’s You’ Ahead of Debut EP Release

Melbourne/Naarm indie pop artist Tilly Fenton has dropped her fiery new single ‘It’s You!’, the latest taste of her highly anticipated debut EP ‘it’s a feeling that i know’, due out October 10.

Playful, cheeky, and packed with gritty pop-rock energy, It’s You! sees Fenton embrace influences like Olivia Rodrigo, early Miley Cyrus, and classic Hannah Montana anthems. The result is a cathartic, hook-filled track that delivers both sass and empowerment.

“It’s You! is about that one person who really gets under your skin. It’s a love letter to the kind of people who twist things, make you question yourself, and somehow turn you into the villain. It’s that moment you stop biting your tongue and finally say what you should’ve said ages ago, with just the right amount of pettiness “my co-star said you’re hurt because you picked a fight with your best friend”. It’s playful, dramatic and weirdly healing screaming “it’s not me, it’s you!” – Tilly Fenton.

Written alongside acclaimed producer Anna Laverty (Lady Gaga, Nick Cave) and later developed with Michael Belsarand drummer Ben Ellingworth, the track showcases Fenton’s growing artistry as both a songwriter and performer. The accompanying music video, shot in an empty theatre with director Jesse Richards, captures the drama and liberation of the single’s themes through a raw live performance.

Closing out her five-track EP, It’s You! follows previous singles The Secret and Valentine, further cementing Tilly Fenton as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging indie pop voices.
