Tjaka Reveal The Groundbreaking New Single, ‘Break It Down’

Meanjin/Brisbane-based first nation outfit, Tjaka have just revealed their phenomenal new single, Break It Down. It follows on from their previous release, Fiya which received massive love from tastemakers all over and has already racked up some very impressive online streams.

Tjaka are a groundbreaking trio, combining hip-hop and experimental vibes that carries a unique homage to their heritage with a modern-day twist. Break It Down is just over three minutes of pure motion, blending club style beats, absolute lyrical flow and some very impressive production including the use of a didjeribone! Tjaka bring out all their talents on this one.

“Lyrically and instrumentally, we aimed to draw the connection from the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ ways of creating music with the sound of the didjeridoo/yidaki. The overall sound of this song is one of the first results of years of experimentation with the didjeribone, the Face-Bass and Ableton software creating the ever-evolving ‘Tjaka’ sound.” – Tjaka.
