Tomorrowland Mainstage Catches Fire: Organisers Vow Festival Will Go Ahead
In a shocking turn of events, the iconic Mainstage at Tomorrowland, one of the world’s biggest and most celebrated electronic music festivals, has caught fire just days before the event’s highly anticipated 2025 edition.
The blaze reportedly broke out late Wednesday afternoon during final construction and tech rehearsals in Boom, Belgium. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the elaborate stage structure, with early footage surfacing on social media showing flames engulfing parts of the massive set design. Emergency services responded quickly, with fire crews managing to contain the blaze before it spread to other festival infrastructure. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial reports suggest it may have originated from a technical fault or lighting rig malfunction.

Despite the dramatic scenes, Tomorrowland organisers have released a reassuring statement confirming that the festival will still go ahead as planned.
“We are deeply saddened by today’s incident, but we are already working around the clock to rebuild. The safety of our crew and attendees is our top priority. Tomorrowland 2025 will continue — and we promise the magic will be just as strong.”
This year’s festival was already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious yet, with a stacked lineup including Martin Garrix, Amelie Lens, Swedish House Mafia, Charlotte de Witte, and Fisher, as well as stage takeovers by major labels and collectives across both weekends. Although the Mainstage suffered major structural damage, organisers are reportedly considering a scaled-down redesign or repurposing of one of the secondary stages as a temporary replacement, a massive logistical challenge, but one festival-goers are hopeful they can pull off.
Social media has been flooded with support for the Tomorrowland crew, with fans and artists alike expressing sympathy — and admiration for the team’s determination to keep the show alive.
As of now, all tickets remain valid, and no changes have been made to the artist schedule, but more updates are expected within the next 24 hours.
