Torizon Announce New Single ‘Echoes’ and Debut EP Meliora

Meanjin/Brisbane petalcore band Torizon have unleashed their powerful new single ‘Echoes’, the latest chapter in their conceptual journey leading up to the release of their debut EP Meliora, out Friday, September 19.

Produced and mixed by Kalen Austin and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Bad Omens, Windwaker, Papa Roach), ‘Echoes’is a fierce and emotional track that blends glitchy xylophone melodies with crushing riffs, orchestral layers, and the soaring vocals of frontwoman Mish Sharma. The song explores themes of grief and trauma following miscarriage, drawing inspiration from heavy music icons like Gojira and Evanescence.

Speaking on the release, Sharma explains:

“This is the fourth chapter in Luna and Sam’s story, which sees them turn to each other for support as they navigate the grief of pregnancy loss. The lyric ‘echoes’ represents painful memories that keep dragging them back into the same exhausting loops. This song was a blast to record! Ben and I got to experiment with different vocal textures to showcase the emotional toll. It’s always been the crowd favourite in our live set.”

Accompanying the single is a moving video directed by Emerge Creative, spotlighting the often-overlooked perspective of partners affected by infertility.

Torizon will celebrate the release with their first-ever East Coast headline tour this October, joined by Naarm alt-metal act New Million. Tickets are available now via torizon.band.
