Tourist Dollars Melt Minds With Dorkilicious New Music Video
Melbourne trio Tourist Dollars have released the music video for their single End of Times, Melting Minds. The single is from the band’s debut eponymous 4-track EP, which has gained them attention from the likes of triple j, Indie Shuffle, and Spotify.
The clip, which was directed by the band’s frontman Jesse McCormack, shows the band spinning onto the screen one at a time, playing their instruments in front of a gradient pastel background. As the song continues, different items float onto screen (such as flowers and cigarettes), and the background changes.
“I wanted to create a simple performance video, but keep it light and a bit shoddy looking. A few different things that were floating around in my head came to influence the final look – Sailor Moon, early computer graphics, meditation videos, and the pastel-coloured state portraiture of North Korea,” said McCormack.
The dreamy nature of the video fits the song nicely, as jangling guitar, steady bass, and simple drums weave together to create a gorgeous guitar-pop combination. Check out the film clip for End of Times, Melting Minds below!
