VIDEO SPOTLIGHT: Stop-Motion Insanity In Gungor Video “Love Is All”
Spiritual duo Gungor have dropped the second in their trilogy of videos for their upcoming album ‘One Wild Life: Body’. The track is Love is All and the video is a masterpiece from a technical standpoint with some of the best stop-motion we’ve seen.
Using monochrome and a rolling harsh desert to beautiful effect, one half of Gungor with merely a suitcase in hand floats along in an otherworldly adventure. Soon things go wrong leading our main character into a nightclub with what we imagine Burning Man Festival resembles (mysterious with mucho loving). Finally the clip ends in a naked strip in the desert to move on to a new life, also very reminiscent of Burning Man Festival.
The use of stop-motion is incredibly refreshing to watch and we can’t begin to imagine how long it took to shoot the video but the hard work has paid off with a memorable clip!
The music is the perfect soundtrack with brooding, stop-start percussion while the vocals soulfully glide through the river of percussion. Horns sound in and out through the track along with jazzy guitar to give extra mood. Meanwhile a silky bassline holds the track steady throughout before a crescendo of piano and additional guitars close out the track.
‘One Wild Life: Body’ is set to release on Friday, 30th of September and is the final album in the ‘One Wild Life’ trilogy that began with ‘One Wild Life: Soul’ in 2015.
