Vinted Vineer Return with Dreamy New Single ‘You’
Brisbane indie favourites Vinted Vineer have unveiled their brand-new single ‘You’, a dreamy and heartfelt track that blends elements of psychedelic, shoegaze, alt-pop and indie into a glowing love song. Following on from their recent release ‘zzz’, the new single captures the emotional moment of meeting a soulmate for the first time.
“‘You’ is a love song. It’s about moving from a place of loneliness to suddenly finding love, sometimes in ways you don’t expect. It’s that feeling when someone enters your life and changes everything for better or for worse. The song sits in that space between relief, hope, and the unexpected ways love can arrive. When I wrote it, I was feeling lonely and started imagining what it would be like to have someone break through that solitude. The lyrics came from that mix of longing and the simple idea of love showing up out of nowhere.” – VINTED VINEER.

Recorded in their Brisbane home studio with engineering by Ruben McIntyre, ‘You’ is built around a pulsing heartbeat rhythm and washed in ethereal textures, with warm layers carrying the listener into an uplifting, cloudlike soundscape. According to the band’s Dominic, the song came together naturally over several months, with a focus on keeping the melodies direct and the lyrics simple.
“The song started with me teaching myself a little picking pattern and over a few months it grew slowly from there… The lyrics are plain spoken, the melodies are direct, and the structure had to reflect that. Love can be uncomplicated and we wanted the song to carry that feeling. In the studio we tried different versions, adding layers and taking them away, but in the end it circled back to being close to the first demo. That was the moment we realised it worked best when we didn’t overthink it. We kept it natural, even adding a banjo in the outro just for fun, but never pushing it too far from where it began.” – VINTED VINEER.
To celebrate, Vinted Vineer will launch ‘You’ with a hometown show at Black Bear Lodge on October 18, followed by a string of tour dates across Brunswick Heads, Lennox Head, Sunshine Coast, Wollongong, Sydney and Ballina.
