WATCH Osaka Punch Go To The EKKA Trippin’ For “Make The Call” Music Video
Have you ever wondered what the Brisbane EKKA would be like if you took acid first? Wonder no more and save your brain cells ’cause funky metal rockers Osaka Punch did it for you! And yes, don’t try this at home (or at the EKKA, as you would have it).
Their music video for single Make The Call, from upcoming EP ‘Death Monster Super Squad’, visually documents frontman Jack Muzak’s LSD trip at the 2016 EKKA. Muzak wanders through the sights, sounds, and smells of the busy carnival for music video material after some hilarious deliberation by the band in their practice room.
You get to see Muzak’s reactions to all the pretty things at the EKKA (his facial expressions are priceless), but the trippy camera effects and close-ups of random colourful things put you right there with him. Muzak does everything from going on crazy rides to scaring little kids with his dancing, and his affection for inanimate objects makes this music video complete.
The quartet’s self-described label of “brutal pop music” lives up to its name with in Make The Call. Groovy clean guitar and keyboard effects layered over heavy djent guitar and percussion make this tune deliciously funky. Muzak’s vocals are the cherry on top of this track with their silky smooth consistency.
Osaka Punch leapt onto the Brisbane scene in 2012 with their impressive debut album ‘Voodoo Love Machine’. The group have been around Australia getting their grooves on for fans and they’ve come to be known for their kickass live shows and tongue-in-cheek personas. Their latest EP ‘Death Monster Super Squad’ is out now, so feast your eyes on the video and check out upcoming tour dates below!
