What So Not Drops Hypnotic New Single ‘Wash Over’ with Daktyl and RIZ LA VIE

Australian dance music heavyweight What So Not has returned with Wash Over, a hypnotic new collaboration alongside UK producer Daktyl and rising US vocalist RIZ LA VIE. Released while What So Not tours across the US and Europe, the track showcases the producer’s ability to craft lush, soulful drum and bass soundscapes that feel both intimate and cinematic.

Wash Over was born in a moment of pure spontaneity. Initially improvised during a TikTok Live stream between What So Not and Daktyl, the track quickly garnered massive fan demand. The duo decided to bring the concept into the studio, where it evolved over several months across sessions in LA and beyond.

The track’s dreamy atmosphere is built on modular synths, a rediscovered African vocal sample, and RIZ LA VIE’s emotionally charged verse, creating a seamless blend of DnB, soul, and electronic textures. What So Not describes the song as “a lush, soulful floater” that emerged unexpectedly but with undeniable energy.

Release days can be a little morbid. Your blood, sweat and ideas, now on show for the world to critique. Its success is often based on compounding factors completely out of your control. So Rich (Daktyl), Benni Ola and I hatched an idea, “what if we throw a release party, go live and make a totally new song just for fun?” Little do we know, the live stream on release day for our last collab “Fever”, would birth a record with arguably more hype and intrigue? A lush, soulful DnB floater, topped off by a stellar verse from Riz.” What So Not.

Wash Over follows the viral success of What So Not’s remix of Maiah Manser’s With A Smile, which racked up millions of views online. The single also arrives as What So Not prepares for Australian and New Zealand shows in Jindabyne and Queenstown.

With its genre-bending production and heartfelt vocals, Wash Over marks another bold step in What So Not’s ever-evolving sonic journey. It’s available now, everywhere.
