Whiskey Jack Reveals New Single, ‘Wild Card’
Indie folk artist Whiskey Jack returns with his brand new single, Wild Card, released today. Known for his poetic lyrics and soothing sound, Whiskey Jack brings a touch of Australiana to the indie folk scene with this heartfelt track.
Wild Card offers a vintage feel, blending themes of heartbreak and relationships that ended too soon. Its gentle melody, accentuated by the nylon string guitar, is complemented by a charming refrain and a touch of whistling. The track also features contributions from Perth producer Dylan Ollivierre on piano, with beautiful cello and double bass by Amy Skellern, and graceful drums from Jack Seah.

The lyrics explore the complexity of watching someone make the same mistakes while still standing by them, a testament to Whiskey Jack’s knack for capturing elusive emotions in his songwriting. Reflecting on the song, he describes it as a journey through the highs and lows of relationships, emphasizing the importance of being there for someone, even when it’s hard to say goodbye.
“This song is about the highs and lows of going through things together, and being there for someone even while watching them repeat the same mistakes.” – Whiskey Jack.
Fresh off a week in Sydney where he was mentored by Angus and Julia Stone, Whiskey Jack is ready to hit the road. Catch him on tour throughout the end of August and September, sharing his soulful music with fans across the country.
