Worm Girlz Share Raw Single, ‘Not My Body’

Brisbane garage indie rock band, Worm Girlz, is kicking off 2024 with a heartfelt new single, Not My Body. Known for their fierce and raucous tracks, the quintet is showing a more tender side with this emotional release. Not My Body dives into the struggles of body image, self-love, and the journey to feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Vocalist Lauren explains, “Not My Body is an emotional outburst induced by the impossible standards placed on body image. It captures our experiences with body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria.” Recorded and mixed by Lucas Montgomery, who also worked on their previous singles, this slow-burner has quickly become a live show favourite.

Worm Girlz are dedicated to hard-hitting lyricism and advocating for minority groups, and their dedication has already earned them a loyal fanbase, despite being only three singles in. “Live, ‘Not My Body’ has grown into a crowd favourite,” says Lauren. “We dedicate this song to everyone, especially our beautiful queer community, who has ever felt like their body isn’t theirs.”

Fans can catch Worm Girlz at their Cozy House Party launch for Not My Body on June 8th and alongside Platonic Sex on July 13th at the West End Girls Winter Edition.
