Wu-Tang’s RZA & Interpol’s Paul Banks Form Dynamic Duo

Banks and Steelz

Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA and Interpol’s Paul Banks a.k.a ‘Banks & Steelz’ first got our attention when they announced their collaboration by playing their Love And War video outside shopfronts. The duo have followed up the intriguing announcement with the release date and track list for their upcoming album ‘Anything But Words’.

Fans can look forward to something different to RZA’s classic rough, gritty, hardcore rap. The rapper described the project as “distinctively different from my previous work, yet with another layer of cool”.

First single Love And War boasts an original, funky, and fast-paced sound. Opening with a harrowing trumpet call, it blends melodic, shrieking horns with dark, heavy drums. Fellow Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah joins the duo, delivering immensely powerful bars alongside RZA and making for an explosive return to the scene.

Banks & Steelz second track Giant sees RZA rapping faster than ever, this time accompanied by a much more hip-hop influenced beat. A deep, grooving bass line, absolutely banging drums, and Banks’ goosebump-inducing chorus will have you nodding along in no time.

‘Anything But Words’ is a 12-track-deep project, boasting three members of Wu-Tang – Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Masta Killa – as well as rapper Kool Keith and pop goddess Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine.

Banks & Steelz’ album ‘Anything But Words’ is set to be released Friday 26th of August.
