The Vanns with I’m Not The One

thevanns

Damn Daniel, they’re back at it again! The Vanns have dropped a massive tour announcement along with their hyped new single I’m Not The One.

Produced by Nathan Sheeby (Dune Rats, Birds Of Tokyo), I’m Not The One features The Vann’s iconic upbeat, guitar-fueled sound. Topping it off with an electric solo and a whole lot of cheek, the single is the perfect follow up to last year’s single release Sunday To Sunday.

In two years the 3-piece indie-rock outfit have pumped out a run of catchy tracks, landing them triple j airplay and have supported British India, Sticky Fingers, and Kingswood. Following on from their whopping 23-show national single tour in October last year for Sunday To Sunday, The Vanns are taking their rowdy set on the road for 13 shows over the next few months.

Josh Cashman with Patience

joshcashman

First off the ranks this year for up and coming Melbourne artist Josh Cashman is his dreamy, new single Patience. The single is only the third release for the promising muso following on from last year’s singles Running and All About You.

Cashman delivers an eclectic indie-pop soundscape with an array of layered vocals, intricate guitar, and a soft, Australian twang. Patience is nothing short of a dream with poetic lyricism like that of James Bay and Matt Corby. Sure to be an indie-pop hit in Oz, the track delivers a chorus that will activate your addiction for Cashman’s sound. Mixed by Matthew Neighbour (Matt Corby, Missy Higgins) and mastered by Adam Dempsey at Deluxe Mastering (Courtney Barnett, Sticky Fingers), the track boasts quality beyond only spanning a year.

Cashman will be hitting the road in celebration of the release of Patience this month.

Sløtface with Sponge State

slotface

Due to being blocked on social media platforms, Norwegian outfit Sløtface (formerly Slutface) were forced to change their band name in order to avoid censorship of their creative expression. In declaration of their new-selves they’ve dropped their protesting single Sponge State.

“Sponge State is our term for the feeling that something needs to change,” states vocalist Haley Shea. The single is an indie-rock riot song featuring rumbling bass, vibrant guitar, and a powerful drum track. Taking a stand, Sponge State is “a reaction to the apathy and lack of action that is symptomatic of our generation”.

Sponge State the lead for the quartet’s forthcoming debut EP, also titled ‘Sponge State’, due to be released Friday 27th May.
