AC/DC Announce Brian Johnson Replacement!

ACDC Rock or bust

After weeks of rumours and speculation, AC/DC has finally announced Axl Rose will replace lead singer Brian Johnson for the remaining of AC/DC’s world tour dates.

The announcement comes just hours before Axl was scheduled to take the stage at Coachella  with the semi-reformed original Guns N’ Roses lineup.

AC/DC will continue their ‘Rock or Bust’ world tour with Axl Rose as lead vocalist after the legendary Aussie rockers released a statement on Saturday detailing Brian’s decision to leave the tour due to his risk of further damage to his hearing.

“AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian’s decision to stop touring and save his hearing.

“We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment,” the statement said.

AC/DC was forced to postpone their current world tour after Brian Johnson was ordered by doctors to stop touring or he would face permanent hearing loss.

Axl will tour with AC/DC for their remaining tour dates before he ventures onto Guns N’ Roses’s ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour, all with a broken leg! Rose reportedly snapped his metatarsal bone whilst performing a warm-up at a Los Angeles club recently.

Johnson’s replacement marks the third lead vocalist AC/DC after he replaced Bon Scott after he passed away in 1980.
