SHOWS ANNOUNCED: All Vibes Are Good In IVEY’s Latest Single
If you’re dreaming of a beach holiday, the tropical vibes of Gold Coast alt-indie quartet IVEY’s latest track All Things Good is just what you need to get the juices flowing.
All Things Good is IVEY’s first release for 2016 (it’s hard to record music with all those damn assignments) and it’s sure to make them a strong contender in Triple J’s Unearthed High competition. Aged between 15 and 19, the group’s four intriguing musicians are already showing musical maturity well beyond their years.
The track begins with a groovy bass line complemented by beach-pop guitar before the vocals of 15-year-old Millie and 18-year-old Lachlan create an uplifting, harmonic texture. Stemming from pop-inspired roots, the song packs a positive punch with a combination of summer dance vibes and life-affirming lyrical content.
The drumming is creatively gentle yet driven with off-beat snare hits and intricate use of cymbals continuing into the chorus. Be warned: the refrain is almost as catchy as that cold you caught from your co-worker.
After hearing All Things Good, we’re hopeful that teens and young adults will be inspired to pursue their musical passions, regardless of their age.
