Bloc Party Revisit ‘Silent Alarm’ For Their 2018 Australian Tour
While some bands cherish playing their latest singles on tours, the 19-year old English Rock band Bloc Party is doing it differently. The four Londoners will be playing their hugely successful debut record ‘Silent Alarm’ for their Australian tour in late 2018.
The tour will begin in Perth’s Red Hill Amphitheatre, followed by Melbourne’s Margaret, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and a final show on the Riverstage in Brisbane.
Debuted back in 2005, ‘Silent Alarm’ has been touted as, “a long-overdue reminder of how urgent and exciting rock could be,” by Complex Magazine. The album was also voted “Album of the Year” in 2005 while it first double A-sided track So Here We Are/Positive Tension reached the top 5 on the UK.
‘Hymn’, their most recent album released in 2016, extends the success of their love for angular guitars and compelling lyricism, especially the lead single ‘The Love Within’. You can find of the full review of the album HERE.
Previously, Bloc Party has already toured Australia—along with former bassist Gordon Moakes that is now replaced by Justin Harris—in the late fall of 2015. Kele Okereke, the leader of the band, had also headlined shows earlier this year in Australia to promote his newest solo album, ‘Fatherland’.
