UPDATED: Bluesfest Drops Banging Second Lineup Annoucement
If you were already keen for Bluesfest then take a second because you’re going to need to take a breather…
The second line-up has been announced and it is amazing, with Mary J. Blige, one of the most successful R&B artists in recent decades at the front. If she plays her classic songs such as Be Without You & No More Drama, the act is sure to be a highlight of the already packed festival.
If Mary J. Blige isn’t enough to get you excited, (I’m just obliged to say that I know you’re excited) then you also have the pleasure of Corinne Bailey Rae and Michael Kiwanuka coming all the way from the UK to lay down some soul in little old Byron Bay.
They’re joined by Nahko and Medicine For The People, Gallant, and The Suffers who are just the sprinkles on top of the big creamy sundae that is shaping up to be Bluesfest 2017.
If you haven’t seen the first Bluesfest lineup already, then you’re missing out on the likes of the Zac Brown Band, Patti Smith, and The Lumineers just to name a few legends.
UPDATED: Almost as if they weren’t quite ready to let us sit still, the Bluesfest organisers have just dropped two more massive names for the lineup in a short but sweet third announcement! Carlos Santana, who most of you will know as a veritable god of the guitar will be coming by to headline, with his psychedelic genre-ranging sounds! Santana killed it when he played Bluesfest ’13, so they must have been so keen to get him back!
Joining Santana will be the Doobie Brothers, another act who cut it up when they last hit the Bluesfest stage, and with a stack of hits like Long Train Runnin’ and Black Water, these guys are bound to keep the crowds moving!
