Broods’ Like A Version Is “One Dance” You Don’t Want To Miss
Rejoice! Kiwi Brother-Sister duo Broods have graced the triple j studio with a mesmerising rendition of Drake’s chart topper One Dance. Their sophomore album ‘Conscious’ was just released earlier this month featuring their signature synth-pop sound and angelic vocals. Drake’s club lament One Dance is a perfectly tailored for the slow burning resonance offered by Broods.
Although not straying far from the style of the original track, Broods’ airy synthesisers and tight-knit percussion weave in tantalising sophistication. If Drake’s track is an RnB nightclub then Broods’ cover is the classy rooftop bar above it, flowing with Hennessy.
The synth percussion opens into an energetic bridge layered with supporting vocals and keyboard with Georgia Nott nailing some crisp high notes. Her soul-touching vocals fly high above the piano mash making this one gem of a cover!
