The Byzantines Get It Movin’ With Funky New Single
Brit-pop fans prick up your ears ‘cause Adelaide quartet The Byzantines have dropped their second single from their upcoming second EP, She Moves.
After the release of their first EP in early 2014, a Europe and UK tour kept them busy for most of the year. When they got home they decided to lay low for a while and we didn’t hear much from them in 2015.
Just as fans were starting to worry they’d been left in the cold, the indie quartet delivered the goods as they released single Jamaica in June. Now with She Moves, we can’t contain our excitement for the EP much longer!
The guitar tunes are almost too cool for school with effortless riffs that complement frontman Michael Pietrafesa’s vocals perfectly. The chorus will have you doing a little twist with its fast, staggered drums, guitar effects and dreamy yet grungey vocals from Michael Pietrafesa. Echoey vocal effects, cheap English accents, and shoegaze guitars keep the song firmly in Brit-pop territory.
While Jamaica gave us late night greaser bar vibes, She Moves gives off more twilight vibes. Think of getting ready to go out on Friday night, drink in hand, gelling your hair, or perfecting your lipstick in the mirror.
This tune will definitely get you in a dancing mood with its toe-tapping drumming and addictive guitar riffs and leave you feeling ready for a hella good night.
The energy in She Moves is turned down a notch from Jamaica, but we think it’s still funky enough to be on regular rotation! The guys hope to tour Australia next month, so stay tuned!
