Essie Holt Captivates With Her Striking Songwriting On ‘Distant Places’
Melbourne singer-songwriter Essie Holt has revealed an entirely new side to her songwriting on her latest single Distant Places, which features recent tour-mate, LANKS.
The melancholic yet captivating track was written in an hour and features only vocals and piano, but is her most raw and stunningly beautiful track to date. LANKS’ feature adds a beautiful dynamic to the track, with the two contrasting vocals combining gracefully to create the perfect remedy for a broken heart.
Essie has described Distant Places as, “My most personal song yet,” and has admitted that the inspiration for the song stemmed from her own experience with a recent heartbreak. Essie goes on to say, “It’s my favourite thing I’ve ever written.”
