Why We’re Excited For Pacific Heights’ Debut Album

Pacific Heights

New Zealand producer Pacific Heights has released his brand new single So Love, the third from his upcoming debut album ‘The Stillness’.

So Love follows on from Buried By The Burden and lead single Airborne. Rhythmically deep, all three tracks are effortlessly absorbing, as they pull you in and place you in a dazed haze. There’s a certain kind of tension that runs throughout each track, with ambient production mixing perfectly with heavier elements and the occasional drum and bass production resulting in amazing dynamic shades.

The use of trickling rain opening So Love really sets the tone for the track. Sounds of plucked guitar, gentle piano and drums create a laid-back feel to the track.  So Love is heaving with all kinds of late call-time vibes, it has an effortless feel, letting you slowly unwind as the gentle melody brings you all kinds of satisfaction. The song’s lyrics are like liquid, slowly trickling down your skin and igniting your senses, leaving you wanting more.

“The production builds up to a blast and quickly subsides to an eerie silence, before rising once again through a mixture of manipulated vocal samples and cascading synthesisers.”

Buried By The Burden is filled with lush sounds. Featuring Louis Baker’s raspy vocals with barely there-harmonies, the track has a moody feel as the instruments smoothly intertwine with each other atop shimmering ambient production.

Featuring Deanna Krieg, Airborne has us in a daydream. The album’s lead single is a little more upbeat in comparison to So Love and Buried By The Burden, with heavier production giving the track a slight dance feel whilst retaining the absorbingly somber vibe.

Airborne connects with you on an emotional level, largely due to the combination of minimalistic and explosive production. The production builds up to a blast and quickly subsides to an eerie silence, before rising once again through a mixture of manipulated vocal samples and cascading synthesisers.

With the release of ‘The Stillness’ nearing, we’re pretty darn excited to see what Pacific Heights has left up his sleeve. There’s a real sense of storytelling in his tracks, which combined with his late night vibes means his debut album release should be all killer no filler.
