Eighteen emerging musician and bands have been revealed as nominees in a new set of BOQ People’s Choice Awards as part of the 2016 Queensland Music Awards.

Shortlisted by a panel of music industry professionals, the power is now in the hands of the public to decide Queensland’s ‘most promising songwriters’ across three new categories; Most Promising Male, Most Promising Female, and Most Promising Songwriting Team.

“Music is one of the things that makes Queensland a great place to live and we’re proud to be supporting our young and emerging musicians.” said Greg Pink from BOQ.

The new nominees add a youthful inclusion to an event already abundant in Queensland’s best musical talent including Violent Soho, Caligula’s Horse and The Kite String Tangle. These emerging artists are now in the running for cash prizes worth $4000.

Voting is now open via the Queensland Music Awards website, where punters can hear each track before making their selection, and all voters will go into the draw to win a double pass to the Queensland Music Awards ceremony.
