French Alps Tiger Drop Moody Tune ‘Let Me Down’

Four-piece indie-rock band French Alps Tiger have just dropped their latest track ‘Let Me Down’.

As only their third release so far, these guys are quickly carving out a neat little space for themselves in the UK indie scene, producing some seriously tasty tunes. ‘Let Me Down’ offers a glimpse at a softer side to their sound in comparison to their true indie-rock singles ‘Tell A Lie’ and ‘Floor Is Lava’.

This latest track feels slightly reminiscent of Cigarettes After Sex, following a more mellow dream-pop structure, with elongated drums and shimmering guitars serving as a cool backdrop to the crooning vocals.

As explained by the band, the song “grapples with the gut wrenching heart ache of being well and truly fucked over. Powerless to stop it, and too naive to comprehend it until it’s like it didn’t even happen to you”. Ouch.

Fortunately for us, they’ve managed to make the best out of that sad situation by spinning it into a lush, chilled-out track with relatable lyrics. This ability to capture raw emotions and transform them into killer songs proves their promising talent as artists.

The track was recorded DIY in a friend’s garage studio in their hometown in South Wales and was mixed/mastered by Chris Dimas (Surf Dads) over in Canada.
