Glass Animals Drop Sentimental New Single & Video
British indie outfit Glass Animals have released another new track from their highly anticipated new album, the sentimental new single Youth, and an awesome accompanying music video.
The single, lifted from their sophomore album ‘How To Be A Human Being’, is said to have been inspired by the variety of people frontman Dave Bayley has encountered over the years.
“I try to sneakily record people, and I have hours and hours of these amazing rants from taxi drivers, people we met outside shows, people at parties”, says Bayley.
The song gives off a whimsical jungle vibe, beginning with an airy combination of vocals and percussion before Bayley slides in with his soothing falsetto vocals.
Youth also holds some cool samples of flutes layered in between versus, kind of resembling a small friendly Disney bird that you would enjoy having a chat with. It creates a super cheerful feeling and is something that differentiates the new single from their previously released tracks.
The music video is just as whimsical, following an adorable young boy who dances his way through a retro American diner (the same from Life Itself) in a jacket that’s just slightly too big for him. As he does his thang and busts a few moves a young waitress becomes entranced by the wild spirit and begins to follow him around the surrounding wilderness. Pretty artsy hey?
Glass Animals’ sophomore album ‘How To Be A Human Being’ is set to be released on Friday, 26th of August. In the meantime check out their new single below!
