Go On A Dreamy Date With Georgia Mae In Video For “Time With You”

Brisbane singer-songwriter Georgia Mae has dropped the Queensland tourism music video for her latest single Time With You, featuring her best date ideas for hapless lovers in the South-East.

The clip is shot in a variety of locations, from the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful beaches and the Glasshouse Mountains to Mt Coot-tha, and a video-game arcade. Largely constructed from a collection of still photographs in stop-motion and nostalgia-inducing Super 8 film, the distinct visual style gives the impression of a whole of dates with ‘Bae’.

The track is a blend of electronica sounds and Mae’s unique, and slightly manipulated, vocal delivery. Throughout the verses, Mae is caught somewhere between rapping and soulfully whispering to the back drop of smooth keyboard chords and a subdued electronic beat.

Sounds ramp up in the chorus to the yearning and soaring of the track’s title line, “Time with youuuuu”. This comes over the top of a collection of more complex percussive sounds while intricate vocal samples weave their way around Mae’s steady vocals.

Speaking about what the song means to her, Georgia Mae said, “I hope it can relate to a lot of people who have really special memories of spending time with someone important to them”.

It’s been a busy few months for Mae, she’s signed to a new label and been performed in a number of shows, including BONJAH’s final tour and at the recent Young Blood #2 at The Triffid.
