Introducing Orchard And Their Mood-Lifting Debut Single ‘Universal Sigh’

Indie-rock band Orchard has made an impressive entrance to the music scene with their debut single ‘Universal Sigh’ released just last week.

The upcoming UK band find inspiration in the music of the greats like Radiohead, The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club, and pre-lockdown found themselves playing a bunch of local shows, creating quite a buzz.

Frontman Tom Harley explained the intention of the band, saying: “We want to achieve the sweeping soundscapes of the artists we love. Music that’s from the heart, that swells with emotion and intensity – but that gets you moving as well.”

Produced by Tom Bishop, ‘Universal Sigh’ is soaring, it’s bold, it’s cinematic- it’s everything you could hope for in a debut track. It seems to reach sky-high in the chorus as the anthemic lyrics burst with life, despite the effortless delivery. The simplistic yet powerful drums and catchy indie-pop guitar lines build the song into an uplifting, danceable tune that’s sure to earn a spot in your feel-good playlist.

Listen to ‘Universal Sigh’ now, the first of three singles to drop ahead of the November release of their debut EP.
