Jack River Takes Us Higher In Latest Single “Palo Alto”

Sydney up-and-comer Jack River has just dropped her latest single Palo Alto, taken from their debut EP  ‘Highway Songs No.2’! Palo Alto follows her debut single Talk Like That and a massive BIGSOUND showcase that saw her join local label I OH YOU.

Kicking off the track with dry, jangly guitar brings to mind the likes of ‘Bleach’ era Nirvana before fading into subtle synthesisers and fitting bass lines. Palo Alto mixes country style vibes with a healthy dose of pop sensibility while River’s vocal work balances her Australian accent with a certain country-western twang, fleshing out her developing sound. 

In contrast to Palo Alto‘s dirty, rugged sound, River’s previous single Talk Like That is a synth-driven number showcasing the impressive genre diversity of her style. If you like what you hear, make sure you catch Jack River and her band supporting Dope Lemon on tour this month!
