LANKS Drops Sweet New Track “Bitter Leaf”
Since accumulating almost one million Spotify streams on his song Golden Age, Melbourne producer LANKS is back with his dope new track Bitter Leaf! The single captures the multi-instrumentalist’s signature sound, mixing indie and electronic music, but also featuring more complex instrumentation than his previous singles Golden Age and Hold Me Closer.
The song begins with a sparse drum beat beneath vocal work akin to Meg Mac. The second verse sees LANKS experiment, filling the track with attention-grabbing synthesisers. Throughout the song, vocal harmonies reminiscent of 90s Justin Timberlake strike an effective balance – sweet but not too sickly. Muted guitar melodies give the song some serious Jarryd James vibes, drawing the listener in throughout.
LANKS is touring with Ngaiire throughout June and July – keep the bitterness at bay and nab yourself some tickets!
