LOVER Teams Up With Golden Vessel On New Single ‘Spiders’
After recent success with his previous single Waiting Up. Australian artist LOVER has returned with yet another heart warming gem, Spiders. It’s taken from his upcoming EP It’s A Wild World.
It’s been a big ride for LOVER since first bursting onto the scene back in late 2018, forging his own style of indie/RnB/Alt Pop. With similarities to the likes of Dijon, Bon Iver and even Brockhampton, it’s easy to see there is a big future yet to come.

Spiders was co-written with close mate Maxwell Byrne, aka Golden Vessel while on a recent trip to Sydney. Inspiration was drawn interestingly enough from thousands of years ago.
“This track was born out of a writing session at my house in Sydney with Max (Golden Vessel). As we were cycling through a bunch of different ideas Max brought with him, he started playing these particular piano chords which I really resonated with, and within minutes I found the melody floating around inside my head.
The night before this session I had stumbled across this story from Greek Mythology; “humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves”
The story must have resonated with me and stuck in my subconscious as the next day I pretty much sung all the lyrics and melody in one go. The song covers the same story but from the perspective of when you find the person you’ve been searching for. All your past relationships and experiences feel like the pathway to this person and can feel like you are free falling.
We mentioned titling it something off-kilter. The piano reminded me of spiders crawling for some reason and the idea of two people together having four arms and four legs helped tie it all together for me – so we landed on ‘Spiders’. Hope you enjoy!” – LOVER
Spiders is available now everywhere. We hear that there will be an accompanying video out in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that.
