Mauvey Sets Up Some Big Weekend Vibes With New Track ‘Sunday Afternoon’
London based artist Mauvey has just dropped the sweet summer banger ‘Sunday Afternoon’.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists like Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Oumou Sangaré, Prince, Childish Gambino, Labrinth, The Weeknd, and Andre 3000, Mauvey highlights his love for creators that leave their mark and aren’t soon forgotten. Making a name for himself with velvet vocals and irresistible tracks, Mauvey is well on his way to living up that standard. His second release since signing with 604 Records, ‘Sunday Afternoon’ weaves elements of alternative, indie, pop and R&B together to create a super catchy single. He’ll be performing this bouncy track and more on his 10+ date tour in September including a slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Painting a picture of a big weekend partying with friends, Mauvey sings ‘Going out for the weekend, I’ll be back Sunday afternoon’. On the surface this track is simply an anthem that gets you in the mood, an ode to the good times and an all-round mood-lifter. Mauvey delves deeper though, explaining “Sunday Afternoon is not just about FOMO, it’s not just about the best night out ever, it’s not just about having so much fun that you come back home on Sunday Afternoon. It’s about being so obsessed with someone that only ‘the biggest night out of all time’ will get your mind off them.”
Set yourself up for the weekend by listening to ‘Sunday Afternoon’, out everywhere!
