Monroe Moon Unveil Their Indie Pop Anthem, ‘WAR’
US indie pop duo, Monroe Moon have this week unveiled their dreamy new single, WAR. It follows on from their previous release, Breath(e) released earlier this year.
WAR comes across as a fun indie dance track that has a real groove to it. Fun arpeggiated synth melodies with a smooth grooving bass-line, topped with a harmonious vocal delivery make this tune a real bop. It has it’s catchiness to it while maintaining a experimental notion to it.
Lyrically the track has a more serious tone to it, it’s actually a anti-war anthem. Written in 2021 about the ongoing military conflict worldwide. They had always planned to release the track in March and unfortunately but poignantly has coincided with current events in Ukraine and eastern Europe.

The track was recorded in Brooklyn, New York. The duo drove 12 hours from their home in Michigan, recorded the track and drove straight back! What an effort, of course what’s a 12 hour trip to NYC without a couple tacos thrown in the mix.
Overall this track resonated with me because I am a big fan of experimental pop, I’m still fond of the indie dance days in NYC from the 00’s and I feel this one fits that world almost perfectly. WAR is available now, everywhere.
